For clean, fresh tasting water, Whirlpool recommends replacing your water filter every 6 months. It may need to be changed more frequently depending on your usage and water quality.
Does my water filter clean itself when I reset the indicator light?
Your water filter is not self-cleaning. Resetting your indicator light will not reset your filter or fresh it. Only regular replacement of your water filter will ensure your family has a continuous supply of clean filtered water.
